Picked one up today!

Post by chriskm1968 »

My wife decided I needed a treat and sent me on an 80 mile drive to pick up my new 92. I couldn't find a short barrel, big lever so I bought a 24'' octagon 357 for 513.00 out the door. I hope it shoots as good as it looks! Time for me to get to the loading table now!

I have had my 24" Octagonal M92 for 4 years or so now, I hope yours proves as Great a Rifle as mine has. Best $$ I've spent on mine has been for a Lyman Tang Sight and a Ranchdog 175 gr Bullet Mould.

As heavy made as the barrel is I would say it could handle any load you could put through it! I cleaned it last night and loaded all my empty cases. I'll fire it today and let you know how it did. I really wanted the 16'' large loop model, so the kids and the wife would enjoy it better. I think I can live with this one though for now!

I loaded 6 dummy rounds of 38 special with 158swc bullets and they have been cycling fine and ejecting great. The action on my gun doesn't seem as stiff as many other new ones I have handled. We will see later on today! :D

I shot about a hungred rouns through the rifle and it did great! The front sight is off a little and I'm shooting to the left about 2 inches. All the ammo fed well. I think she is a keeper.

I really would love one of these! I really like the look of a long octagon barrel and one in 357 would really fit well with my fledgling levergun collection... Congrats and be sure to buy your wife something nice! ;)

The first thing that I'll do is replace the sights. That plastic elevator will move on you and then maybe a spring kit. Promlem is Stevegunz has so many nice sights that it's hard to pick just one!
