Fore Stock removal ?

Post by Old Vagabond »

:? Ok...I have been trying to remove the fore-stock on my CJ, and have the manual. I have removed the stock screw and opened the cylinder as per instructions. I have pulled and pried but cannot get it off. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

but seriously, have you tried a rubber mallet? I often have to use that to get the stock off during cleanings on my 92s

There are two forend screws , there are two crudely welded on threaded bits of round tube, they may not be welded square so it may need a bit of tapping & prying but it will come.
