Steve, I know you need something to keep you busy :)! Perhaps you should offer to take over the Rossi longgun parts business, or, even better, start manufacturing a line of quality replacement parts for all of us who really appreciate a well functioning Rossi levergun...

We are talking to some folks about that now. I currently have firing pins and of course the stainless mag follower and safety delete parts. The problem is finding a machine shop with idle equipment that can take on small lots.

firing pin, ejector (including the collar) and extractor would be parts I would consider having just as spares. Particularly the ejector. For some reason, I just don't have a lot of faith in that part, although it may be functional for the life of the gun.

Honestly, with my retirement looming, I've been thinking about my closed mold business. Same with making Rossi parts, the small parts to start with. The big thing for me is a building. Don't want it to be in town as if I'm over "going to work" so it would need to be out at the ranch. The cost of a building is huge and at 60, you don't have much time to recover the cost of such. The mold business takes a huge amount of space and would be the breadwinner over small parts so without molds...

That is a tuff one for sure the small parts for rossi though if you could find an outsource machine shop that made them to your specs and such. Then it is a process of how many to buy to stock up that would not end up being overkill. I agree though for income that is sure the mold business is a sure shot as I have seen on cast bullets there is a void from your molds no longer being sold it comes up in threads alot. I would stick with the moulds and see if you are able to do some small batch tests runs on the parts while doing the molds. either way keep us posted to either venture it will benefit us all.

Just wondering If there's been any news on progress with the parts for the Rossi 92's? I have one in 45 Colt available to me, but am not willing to add another one to the rack unless parts are going to be available.
