Gallery hammer extension for scope mounting

Post by donhov »

Recently bought my Gallery and wanted to mount a scope on it. Got scope mounted to it but can not reach the hammer under the scope. Any one know of a hammer extension that fits the Gallery hammer. Will be raising the scope mount 1/2 inch which will help but still think I need some type of hammer extension. Thoughts?

Just in case you don't know the top rail is a 3/8 Weaver mount. There is a Weaver 3/8 to Pic rail adapter for about $10 then you can mount any type of scope on it. I bought the scope and received same but now had to order the rail to get all to fit. The scope requires fully lowering the rear sight just to clear it (using WalMart rail adapter but no see through) therefore I am raising it about 1/2 inch and adding the above rail so I can use the see through mount that came with the scope.

Scope is a Piney 3 to 9 40mm with red/green illuminated cross hairs, e-bay under $30 and reasonably rated by independent reviews for it's intended use.

Uncle Mike’s has the broadest selection of hammer extensions that I know of. I would submit a question to them.

I will edit the title and eat crow if there is a Galley model I haven't heard of.

No, "Gallery" is correct. Galley is NOT. I edited the title so other users could find your topic in search. I did leave all the other errors unedited.

Again thanks, guess I need to read the instruction manual for the correct name. And that's what I get for typing while tired and old. And I did edit the errors I could this am.

Again Thanks....

For reference, got the adapter (3/8 weaver to Pic rail from e-bay $10) and got it mounted. Had to take a small file to slightly modify it to go over the rail, don't know if it was the adapter or the Weaver rail on the Gallery. Once adapter was on I used the mounts that came with the scope and used with the see thru feature, but again small problem, the adapter blocks the rear sight unless it's mostly all the way up. Ok, I can live with that. Have pics but can not figure out how to post them. I no longer have a hosting service and I'm getting too old to try to figure all this stuff out. If someone can post them for me I can send them to your e-mail gladly. Oh buy the way, the hammer easily clears the scope with out worrying about a hammer extension now. 3x9x40 Piney scope with red/green lighted cross hairs, again $30 on the big E
