RR (and LL) friends,

I can't believe it but I am still not working and still recovering with PT for my right rotator cuff repair. I have not been posting much anywhere lately, due to home routines and just hard to feel energized enough to post. Between my wife and supporting her successful recovery from spinal surgery, and 2x weekly physical therapy visits myself, I've been busy in ways I never figured I would be.

Great news, is that Chris is back at her school working just this past week. She really is happy! Ironic though, that my shoulder is still holding me back. My mindset is informed by my doctor though - he reminds me that every shoulder recovery is different - regardless of procedure - and that I have to keep up with PT and be patient. So I am, and I don't want to go back to my busy 3rd grade students until I am physically ready for the Super Bowl/World Series of the classroom anyway. Well, I guess I had to get that off my chest!

Now, on to the point of this post, dang it!

I managed to edit a few photos of mine, and believe it or not the process of keyboarding and fine motor control is taking some time for me to get comfortable with and not add to the daily pain level. Jeez. One day!

So, I am a man of limited living space as well as finances (third grade teacher - yeah, baby!) so my gun choices have to be pretty selective in order for any particular gun to remain with my cache for very long. One moves in, sometimes one has to go. Just not enough room!

Here are some of my favorites, made in America, two are 1950 one is 1953 and another is my late-model Rossi which I am pretending is an old 1950 Winchester 92 just to pretend to keep the title somewhat honest.

You know, when I look at the Rossi and the Marlin I am tempted to make the 336A become a 16" barreled .35 Remington....but I won't do it!

I've only got two from the '50's...both Marlins, both 1951 models.

I had this 2003 model Winchester 94AE cut down to 16.5


This is a Winchester 94 in 30-30, new, unfired, safe queen.
Serial number dates it at 1956, year I was born.


I get it out from time to time, just to look at, walnut and blue steel, all steel, real steel, no cast or MIM on the 50s firearms.

Glad to post the pics. The Model 81 in the photos is a 1950 date code, .300 Savage-barreled gun with honest but mild wear & tear. The bore is outstanding.

I am a fan of these autoloader Remingtons so I have three more; one is a 1945 dated Krieger conversion also in .300 Savage; one is a 1939 date .30 Remington and the last one is a "Frankenbuild" early Model 8 with a 1908 receiver and 1924 barrel jacket. That one has a .35 Remington barrel, I also have a spare .32 Remington barrel I can use with the .30 Remington bolt assembly. Here's the Model 8 I'm talking about: I have a 1923 or 1924 (forget which) Model 14 pump Remington in .32 Rem which is in nice condition.

Since these dates all fall outside of the 1950's I did not include them in this post!

The little shotgun is a 1953 date Wards Western Field SB60A 20 gauge in "almost new" condition. The barrel on it is a second one from Numrich that I shortened, so that I could keep the original matching 28" barrel for field use.
