I noticed the ladder sights on your Rossi. I'd be very interested in knowing what's the shortest range you can use them at? And with the ladder down can you manage 25m with the 'V' sight??

Hi Tom.
That Uberti ladder sight was on my Marlin in the pic above, but might soon be on my Rossi.

Short range use with the ladder sight would depend on how high your front sight is.
For running just the ladder sight, you'd want a front sight height optimal for the ladder.
Then you'd have no problem seeing the V and using it up close.

I have to run a taller front sight to use the Skinner, so that will make the ladder sight shoot low when folded down.
Additionally, when using the ladder as the middle sight in a 3 sight "sandwich", that V in the ladder might not even be visible unless the back sight, (in this case the Skinner) was removed.
