hi everyone
I have a rossi 357 i want to cast and load some lead bullets.
Its been like 35 years since i slugged a barrel. Thinking back i know i used some kind of compound that i purchased from brownels i think i remember heating it up and pouring if into the barrel , if my memory is correct.
But anyways here on the board im reading about using lead sinkers.
Can someone please advise on exactly how to do this?
Do you just get sinkers that look close to the rifle bore diameter and just drive it completely thru the barrel using a wooden rod?
Any info would be appreciated
Thank you David

That is pretty much it. I like the egg sinkers, the one's with the hole through them, they provide a true measure as the hole eases the leads compression which prevents the alloy from springing back once clear of the restriction (the bore). The trick is finding lead sinkers.

Be careful using a wood dowel to drive the slug, they can break and jamb things up. I have an assortment of brass and aluminium rods that I use.

Along the same lines of how to. How do you do a pounding of the chamber?

Stay well, be safe, make smoke,
