Accurate #360-175B vs. TLC359-175 RF

Post by Highgravity »

Are these two designs the same?

I would like to buy the NOE version but not knowing when it will be available again sent me shopping.

Thanks

They look extremely similar.
Given that the Accurate mold is using a dimensioning scheme most likely designed by the French or the Russians I would not care to place bets on it being identical but it sure looks like it is the same or close enough as to make no difference.

Point of fact however is that even IF the bullet designs are the same the molds may have differences in construction and/or features that may make one or the other work better in casting. Of that I have no real knowledge / experience.

As the guy that designed it, I would say that it is although I have never spoken with Accurate. Just the .360" vs. .359"

Thanks Guys, I know that Ranch Dog designed this mold and hoped he would chime in.
I have done quite a bit of research and know the amount of work you put in to this.
I have other molds from Tom at Accurate and they are very nice. I do not have any NOE molds and
wanted to try one. I just seem to always have poor timing when I'm looking for a new mold at NOE.

Yeah, I wish NOE could get back to inventory molds and away from so many group buys.

Ok here it is. If I can do this picture thing.
I'm going to be very busy getting the cabin ready for Memorial holiday, after that I'll
give it a run.

OK back to my project here. I cast up some bullets, made a dummy round, grab my gun, load dummy, lever it
Damn a jam. So I wonder how much deeper do I have to seat this thing so it would feed. Turns out to only be .025 deeper. I have a factory crimp die no big deal. Loaded up 12 gr of 2400 and off to the range. Wow
these things shoot pretty good. They are going about 1550 fps and are inside 4 inches at a hundred yards. Not sure how much better I can do with iron sights.
Got home and decided I really want to use the crimp groove. Googled Rossi 92 feeding issues and found my way
back here. Not sure who posted the pictures of a file sticking out the top of their gun working the cartridge
guides but Thank you!! All is right now except I have to start over, you know all that shooting and stuff ;). Thanks for all the great info here!

Sizing the bullet smaller will also allow you to increase the overall length. I size both my "175" & "190" to .357".
