TLC454-290-RF ??

Post by se3388 »

Is there both a GC and plain base version of this bullet? I am looking for some of the GC version but can't find any.

Steve, only a gas check version was cut buy Lee. Since Jerry at Carolina Cast had his stroke, no one is casting the bullet as a component for reloaders. NOE has my designs but I'm not sure where this bullet is in the lineup. Lee is accepting special orders.

I got some non gas check ones from one of our fellow board members and will try them in my Navy Arms .45 when I can get to the range. Between the recent -8* temps and the 40 mph winds we now have it doesn't make for good shooting, LOL. I checked Lee and it looks like they charge a $175.00 setup and tooling fees plus $26.00 for a two cavity mold, NOE does not show the TLC454-290RF mold in the Ranch Dog section. I will have to call them during the week.

I have a NOE mold. Its built like a tank. I know he is working on more RD designs. Call him or drop him an email, good people!

Lee said it is a 'Special Order' even though they have the cutter for it so that's out at that price and NOE is not adding more Ranch Dog molds until later this year. Accurate Molds seems to be the best candidate at this time.

A option for you to try would be to use some plain base gas checks on the bullets you already have.
