What's the cost of doing the safety conversion?

For all the work l listed its $2.1k. The checkering is $900.00 and the rest is $1200.00.

Sorry, I guess that I really don't know the answer to your question. I'd guess it's a little cheaper because of the other work I'm having done.
I sent it in about a month ago and they said it's a 6 month wait. This gives me time to add more work if I want but I really can't think of anything else. I don't care for engraving or take down, just looking for simple and clean.

A sample of the checkering and CCH

I might have gone for the takedown option but it ought to be a beauty when it comes back in any event.

I wanna see pictures!

I'm not a take down fan but I can see how it would be nice for others.

I'm not having the wood refinishing so it's going to be the nice chocolate brown walnut that came with the gun.

It was gone about 10 days. They replaced the forearm....

Mines got an occasionally annoying forearm "tick" when handled. Last time I sent it in for a broken firing pin... jeeze, it was gone for about 4 months. If my forearm gets worse, its Accraglass (gel) time. The issue is the length, and wood being shorter by a curlyhair's width than the space it ought to fit. That condition is problematic to the "rifle" variant of the 92's (and probably 94's and others). Carbines allow a bit of give and take with the barrel band's fit to the wood. But the nose cap of the rifles has much less. The real issue then becomes how the wood expands and contracts, putting pressure on the underside of the barrel. I'm not sure if there's a great solution, other than to live with an almost tight fore stock.

Next Rossi '92 I see, I'll snag if its a 20 incher. The I've already said the Winchester/Miroku is a beautiful gun, and functional, but has lost a bunch of the charm of the 1892 design. The part I really dislike is that "what were they thinking" 5 piece firing pin, and the way the rebounding hammer rebounds so far from the "bolt closed" position. I guess I can live with the firing pin, but that hammer, just doesn't cut the mustard. When you go to open the bolt, its nice for 1/2 inch, then you hit the hammer with its "too strong" mainspring. Big bump. Then at the end of the bolt travel, the cutout in the bolt which acts as a hold open device is far too deep and puts another big bump in things.

My Rossi's no looker, and I've beat it up some more to make it look even worse, but its smooth as the inside of your girlfriends thigh, quick, and more accurate than the Winchester/Miroku. Only paid $800 for the Win, back in 2020, Rossi's are nearly going for that these days. Wowp!

Yeah, I've got 5 Rossi's, they've all had their own problems. I still can't get the mag tube out of the reciever on my 20" short rifle.

Got the Winchester back today. They did a great job with the safety system delete.

Remove Tang safety and drill and tap for tang sight.

Delete rebounding hammer and convert hammer and firing pin to traditional half-notch safety.

Color case hardening on the reciever, lever, hammer, buttplate and the forend cap.
