Looks like they are trying to compete with the Henry all weather offerings.

Thats what I thought, copying henry and chiappa.
Think I would rather have the 92 version, stronger action for hotter loads, if needed.

Hadn't seen that one from mossberg.
maybe the manufacturers are still geared toward stainless survival/wilderness type rifles.
Or people have an interest in stainless guns more now.
must be a big demand.
I know chiappa has been pushing that for a few years now with that little Alaskan 92 takedown.

The BLR has been around since the 60's, I see a review of the stainless takedown going back to spring of 2010, with the first mention of a Henry all-weather not being until oct. 2016. Henry's longranger is basically a ripoff of the BLR.

My Lever gun wish list: Browning BLR stainless steel tackdown model in .358 Winchester. I don't know if these are currently being manufactured. A substitute could be a Savage model 99 in .358 Winchester.

It would also be nice to have a Cimmaron model 71 in .45-70, but my Marlin Model 1895SBL pretty much covers that niche.

Another could be a Rossi 92 in .44 mag, stainless, 16" barrel, although my .357 mag, stainless, 16" barrel is probably close enough and plenty powerful enough for a short range deer rifle.

Something in a lever gun .243 Winchester would also be nice.

With your desire to find a 358 Win, you might go to GunBroker and search WHYAT OCUMPAUGH and then save it as a Saved Search with email notification. This is JES's account, the rebore/rechamber guy. I've seen a number of 99s listed that he has rechambered to 358 Win. That seems to be his favorite rechamber on short action rifles, such as the 99, with the 35 Whelen being used on the long action. Typically, his rifles haven't been safe queens but they are not beaters either and see for approximately $575.

Last week he had a Marlin XS7 bolt rifle that had been a 243 Win that was rebored/rechambered to 358 Win and had it had the wood stock rather than synthetic, I would have bought it.

I'm on my phone or I'd search previous replies but I need a .45C or .454C R92. I'd prefer an old model Rossi .45.
