Rossi .38 Special grips

Hello, i recently was gifted a Rossi model 88 snub nose .38 special. It has the original wooden grips on it. I want to change to a new grip better suited to larger hands. I have been told that a Smith and Wesson model 60 is basically the same revolver. I have searched for replacement grips for a Rossi and i only found one option which i don't like. Will grips that fit a model 60 Smith fit the model 88 Rossi?

The Smiths have a round and square butt version of the J frame. That is the difference on finding what will fit your Rossi. My suggestion is to find a Rossi set from a newer gun (but not too new) that are the black plastic.

On mine the problem was speed loaders would not clear. See what I did...

Thank you for the reply. I am not familiar with Rossi revolvers. Could you recommend which model to look at.

M68 (blued) and M88 (stainless).

I had a M68 several years ago for a field gun that just couldn't take the daily environment, with out being completely wiped down and often scrubbing the rust speckles off. Unfortunately I didn't have a S&W j-frame at the time so didn't have access to the grip panels to check for a cross fit (without modification). I guess it really doesn't matter for me any more, but I'm still curious about it.
