Wizard Arrived Today!

Post by morayman »

My new Wizard arrived today! I was really happy to get it as it took longer than I had planned. It was worth the wait.First thing I noticed was the wood,it has beautiful grained wood on the stock, the fore arm is straight grained, but the stock has some really nice grain. The stock is just dull, looks like it was stained and that was it,maybe it will get the Tru Oil treatment.I'll see if I can get a picture up later.Everything works like it should and I'm very happy with it! morayman......................

It's a 45-70.I've been asking some newb questions about this caliber on here.I figured it was a good rifle to get me introduced to this caliber. About the sig line,I've never seen it worse in this country, and I too see many similarities. morayman.....

Well I tried to get a good picture of the stock I'm so proud of,but it just is not the same as seeing it in hand.It has so much charactor in it,but the picture just dosen't show it.You can see how flat dull it is though.I think Tru Oil will fix that! morayman.............

45-70 is a great cartridge. Easy to reload even with black powder. Suggest you start out reloading at the 1873 pressure levels, not too bad on the body. If you go up to the Marlin/Winchester pressures it will get your attention. Shot H&R Buffalo several years with shotgun stock (recoil pad) plus a out 2 lbs of lead in the stock. You'll like it.
