Ranch Dog: Thank you for the link to model look up. That tells me the gun was manufactured in 2011. Much earlier than I thought. It does not give the ROT.

Sorry about that as I missed the screenshot capture on the first image.

Ranch Dog: No worries Mate.
The gun is definitely not a 1 in 10 twist, as shown on the chart. It is at least a 1 in 12.
Could freebore be the cause of vertical stringing?
BTW, Thanks for your links.

The freebore would tend to scatter the POI not string it. If you are certain about the ROT, I would send it back for the spec barrel.

It would be nice if someone else had a similar rifle that could measure what they have as well. You think any of the gunshops in your area have one on a rack?

Ranch Dog: I don't know of anyone around here who has one. I'll have to check around the local gun shops. This one was purchased 200 miles from where I live.

BTW, do you know how one posts a photo on this board?

Tcepone, I bought a 243/20 ga combo setup and checked the rifle twist. As near as I can measure, mine is 1 in 10". I haven't shot it yet but should be ok with 100 grain.

Could be the forend. Is it possible to fire the rifle safely without the forend? Could be putting some pressure on the barrel. Just guessing.
