Rossi M92 45 Colt
Re: Rossi M92 45 Colt
Thanks for the drawing and pics they are very helpful. Please excuse my lack of knowledge on these lever actions. What part actually pushes the cartridge stop #45 out of the way when you cycle the action? When the stop #45 does hang up it has moved but not quite enough.I can then take a small driver and easily push on the stop and it moves back against the receiver and a round pops out. With no round in the tube I can push in on the follower and the cartridge stop moves over to the right in front of the follower. With it in this position I can slowly close the lever and I can hear the follower make a noise as it is released by the stop.I open the lever and the stop will be back to its left position against the receiver.I will be changing to a metal follower soon.Any advise on where to get one?I guess the stop could have a burr on the back or edge that hangs on the brass or be out of shape ,size but it does not hang up every time so I don't know.

Great thread. Can't remember how I dealt with it the first disassembly/reassembly but I remember temptation to break a couple of the Ten Commandments.

It is tough to tell what it is until you dig into it.When the stop #45 does hang up it has moved but not quite enough.I can then take a small driver and easily push on the stop and it moves back against the receiver and a round pops out.
I've been buying my stainless followers ($14) along with a stainless magazine spring ($12) from the SmithShop. He charges $3 shipping and the products arrive quickly.
