Rossi 92 loads question

Post by Johnnyjr »

What are your best loads with the 30
Twist and 158 gr xtp bullets at 50 to 70 yards. Green dot sight on mine. Or maybe a 158 gr cast bullets with gas checks. Thanks. Johnny

I don't mean to put you off, but I shy away from putting specific load data out there on the Net. But I've found that the highest velocities you can get from whatever powder and bullet you are trying work with gives better accuracy. I also tend to go with the lighter bullets (125 or 130 gr.). They definitely have better stabilization at that slower twist rate than the heavier bullets at distance (approx. 80 paces).
That 158 XTP bullet is a good bullet if you drive it at a fast enough velocity. H110/W296 worked better with heavier bullets than LilGun in my two Rossi 16" .357s. For the lighter bullets I would recommend a faster powder. I hope this "vague" information helps.
