You came here to get talked out of a rifle?

I have been really thinking about a 44-40 also. I have no realistic use for one around here, being bottlenecked I could not even deer hunt with it here in MI. 44 magnum, yes, 45 Casul yes, lessor powered 44-40? Nope ..

I'd use real BP loads of course. The big puff of white smoke every time you touch one off..

You should get one too +guns

I've got a Puma Short Rifle in .44-40 spotted in a shop, and I'd bet money it's never been loaded or fired (no brass marks on loading gate or carrier). But it's on consignment and the owner hasn't put a price on it yet. If it's reasonable, I'll get it. May have to trade for it though.

This shop specializes in milsurps, militaria and antique guns. They do unreasonable quite well.

I'd play, but I don't think RD wants to run afoul of Internet gaming regulations.
