I traded my Savage 11 Scout for a 99 chambered in 308 Win.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!
It is a 99E, nothing special but very clean by the pictures we exchanged. Very tough to find a 99 in South Texas anymore. I'm going to meet the guy today for the exchange if we are both happy.HarryAlonzo wrote:Happy Thanksgiving!
Good trade, I'd say. What model 99? Pictures?

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!
My EG is as common as they come, but she's a shooter. If my sources are correct, the E has a straight grip and a light barrel. Good find! Be cautious of a cracked stock. The .308s in particular like to crack just aft of the receiver.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!
Picked it up, pictures will follow today. Pretty metal & blueing, very clean bore. It has the birch stock with the broomstick quality finish, but that was expected. Will get some pictures today once I get caught up. These rifles in 243 Win, 284 Win, 300 Sav, and 308 Win were quite common in South Texas, but now no one seems to own one. I've looked at a bunch online but that is a bit of a crapshoot, and they are overpriced plus another $75 on top of it to get it here.

The blondes are quite distinctive. Makes ya wonder why more manufacturers didn't make stocks from birch or ash. Can't wait to see the pictures!
