If you do a search on Sherman's posts you'll find he's been having a less than loving relationship with his single shot for over a year or three.

DId you ever find a wood stock for that Savage Axis?
I just won one of those and I have heard Boyd's makes some stocks but that the fit may not stack up. That would match with what I've heard about their Rossi 92 stocks the past year or two.
I'll probably keep the plastic on my Axis, especially if my buddy's daughter adopts it.

im in the same boat here soon, my 44 mag octagon 92 is on gunbroker right now with a high bid of $405
