Welcome to the fun

Pull the butt stock, flush with non-chlorinated brake cleaner, lubricate, work several hundred times, flush again, lube and shoot it. They're a bundle of parts flying in close proximity and need to seat to play nice together. Also not a bad idea to flush out the mag tube as well. Lots and lots of detailed instruction here on the site.

Make smoke,

Howdy from South Carolina, and welcome to the forum.

You've very impressive taste in firearms, for your first purchase. A 125 year old design, by Americas foremost designer. Enjoy your 92. It's a fun piece, and in .357, a great caliber for range sessions.

Welcome,
Warning lever actions are like Lay's potato chips, you can't hardly stop with just one.

Hi from down under.

Everyone's told you about the initial clean so I'll give you the advice I give to most people when purchasing their first firearm.

Buy/reload as much ammo as you can and go shooting. Try a number of different distances to get a good feel of your sights.

I have that same one, and it's a fun little rifle.
if you reload 7grs of herco or BE-86 under a 158gr rnfp in 357 cases seems just right in mine.
now I need to run across one with the 24" barrel.
a good flush like the others mentioned is a good idea, a little lube in the right places helps a lot too.
the shooting to break it in and smooth things out seems to take care of itself.
