My Vortex Scout Scope should arrive this afternoon, got tired of
waiting for the Weaver K4 that was back-ordered till late July if
then.

I have the original Rossi base on the 16" .38Sp /.357Mag Carbine.
Need a break in this heat wave before zeroing it in.

The problem with oil inactivating the primer is that it remains heat sensitive.
i.e. the compound will detonate IF it's put under severe heat a-la flame.
Not exactly a normal problem issue but something to be aware of.

Recently set up a new red dot that met all of my requirements - low, light, and silver. Same cheek weld as the scout scope that it alternates with. In theory, I should be able to do quick swaps without losing zero.

Vortex are top notch scopes, also ultra dots are awesome for their precise mia dots lots of 22 pistol shooters use them as well great scopes.
