Hey Everyone!
Just picked up a Rio Grande stainless in 45/70 today for my birthday.
It was the only gun that had all the features I was looking for out of the box
-45/70 lever action
-6 round capacity
-stainless for Alaskan conditions
-large loop
But you guys probably knew that, I'm just excited!
I'm a charter captain here in Ketchikan and look forward to following the threads here

No such thing as bad weather in Alaska, just lousy clothing choices!

Used to live in Hyder, Alaska on the Alaska/British Columbia (Canada) border which wasn't far from Ketchikan back in the 70's.JBox818 wrote:Hey Everyone!

Recall there being lotsa rain & snow in the area.
Stainless would be a good choice.
