Got to the range and sign on the gate " CLOSED TODAY ".
I had suspected it might be but checking their web sight Monday
there was no mention of it.
Well today is supposed to be even better weather wise before
the cold front arrives tomorrow so I'll try again.
Doc ... the manual is out in the truck but I thought I'd try 50 yards
to get a feel for POA, can always pull the frame closer.
ha ha, both eyes open !!! Yeah right, with left eye being dominate
I can see my hits everywhere but on target.
triggerpull ... my hunting days are far behind me so I punch holes
in paper targets these days. Enjoy the camaraderie at the range,
interesting folks as well as helpful and some great firearms. I'm
hoping the red dot will help with consistent groupings.
Hey Monk, didn't mean to take over your post. Did you get back
out ?

Sounds like me Jaybm. Sometimes I spend more time talking to other members than I do shooting. We have a few mall ninjas, but overall, they are a great bunch of guys, both young and old.Jaybm wrote:triggerpull ... my hunting days are far behind me so I punch holes

At my age, there IS nothing better than shooting.

Re: Interesting Morning at the Range
I'm VERY lucky--I have access to private land just down the street and can shoot every day if I want to--and I have it all to myself nearly all the time! As a reloader and shooter of many different weapons this has been invaluable to me. One day I hope to meet the right red-dot (I think she's likely a pricey Trijicon or Aimpoint) but I haven't cared for the ones I've tried so far--and that's lots --up to and including Eotech. Might have to do with my bad eyes too.

Hey Jaybm
Nope...haven't gotten out again yet. Unfortunately, I'm 'grounded' for a few days. Plus, the weather here in eastern PA is about to get downright cold which I don't like as much any more, must be getting old or something. Anyhow, good luck at the range! Well heck, it sounds like it will be no matter how the shooting goes...good deal. It was fun working the red dot. I think it helps me 'see' where I want to be on the paper, ymmv. Mostly use the smaller or smallest dots. They work well for my distances. (I don't care about the thread thing. Good thing it has legs for anyone.)
