Sorry I have been MIA...... Been real busy with work. With spring and summer approaching my side work is booming. Ran across this and fell in love with it. It was made is 1937 by Smith & Wesson for the Brazilian Military. There were 25K made and mine was made just past the halfway point. It uses Moon Clips or can be fired without them. Its a real sweet shooter.

Very nice, is there still a good source for replacement clips?

For moon clips that are steel you want Ranch Products, just call them up and order them:

http://www.ranchproducts.com/index-2.html

If you want to try the plastic moon clips that you can use by hand instead of a tool then try Rimz:

(turn down your volume as they have a really annoying talking website, YUCK.)

http://www.ezmoonclip.com/

And there are all kinds of moon clip tools depending on how much you want to spend.

Culina grips? They look really nice.

Ranch Products is where I purchased my clips. The grips are custom I just don't know by who. My plan is to parkerize it. There is no doubt it saw some use. Trigger is super smooth. In the process of building a gun shop and reloading room.

Sweet!

I've seen similar grips a couple times.

As Maximumbob said there's lots of sources for moon clips. Smith even still sells them but they tend to be on the pricy side.

I've turned down a couple .45 Colt Smiths the past couple years I probably should have picked up.
IF they'd been .45 ACP I'd have been all over them.

That is a really nice find. I probably would have broke the bank to get that one, if I had to.

Hey Tuco,

I gots one of those too. One of the chambers is very rusty and the bore is horribly pitted and looks plum awful. Regardless, that thing will shoot with remarkable accuracy, making many 6 shot groups with the holes touching at 25 yards. The groups aren't usually close to the bullseye because of the fixed sights, but that's ok with me. I don't have a pet load for it cause it shoots anything I feed it, from 260 SWC to 200 round nose.
I got fed up wit trying to use those moon clips and getting the brass in and out again. So I bought a few hundred 45Auto Rim cases to make life easier. I still have a few of the clips though, to show young shooters, how it used to be done.
