I was starting to load some ammo for a new M92 in 454 Casull coming my way next week so I opened a box of 454 Casull Starline brass from Midway and sized and flared them then started to hand prime them with my Lee Auto prime when one felt like it I ran out of primers. I checked and still had primers and one was was in place to be inserted in the case but it went in with no resistance at all. I inspected the case and it was a Starline 45 Colt case. I thought it was a bonus case but I only had 99 Casull cases and the one 45 Colt case.

I would let the seller know. Very nicely - but I would inform them. :)

I'd check all other boxes of 454 cases purchased at the same time from this seller & if the incident is singular as I suspect it is I would chuck the 45LC brass in with my 45LC cases and motor on.

I did just that, it went in the box with all my other Starline 45 Colt cases and continued loading 454 Casull cases. Kind of makes you wonder who put it in there, what were they doing when it happened etc. etc. It's just a mystery and I guess that's what intrigues me.

I had 2 44mag cases packed with 45lc brass from starline last month,i have a feeling they are in such a hurry to get product out a few here and there are slipping by. 2 months ago I bought 300 Winchester 45lc cases in 100ct bags and they ALL were way over size to where even with a .452 sized boolit and crimped they were to big,i thought something was up when the boolits just slid right in without having to bell the mouth at all. Starline in my opinion is doing a lot better at quality control than most right now.
