It is pretty natural feeling to just hold it up like a regular rifle and shoot, isn't it? I haven't done a tremendous amount of experimenting with mine over the past months, but that is the best way I've come up with.
With magnums, it will send my thumb into my nose if I don't bring the thumb back over. They always pound this into you in defensive shotgun classes, so it's not like I haven't heard it before (and felt the pain when I don't do it), but I do learn slowly.
