Burris 2-7X pistol scope that I scavenged from my old S&W Dirty Harry pistol. Just received the NOE base yesterday. Only snag was digging out my long lost TORX drivers from parts unknown. Great sight picture. Clearance for scope power adjustment close, but very functional. Nice beautiful mount. Thanks NOE.

Were you able to get the eye bell forward of the ejection port so that the bell does not interfere with ejection? Hard to tell in the photo.emerson biggies wrote:Burris 2-7X pistol scope that I scavenged from my old S&W Dirty Harry pistol. Just received the NOE base yesterday. If anyone has a problem with the length of the base not allowing the space for the rings against the turret, usually the forward set of rings, you will need to use an extended ring. Below are the Weaver Quad Locks but they only offer the extended in the "high" set.

I think the evolution of this is going to make for some interesting set ups and range reports

What caliber and barrel length? I await reports on the trs-25's livability with any significant recoil. When I queried Bushnell's CS about possibly using one on the Wizard's 45-70 barrel they advised against it.chrissmallwood wrote:Ive got a Bushnell trophy trs-25 red dot on it. Re: What Optic are you mounting to your NOE Scout Base?
Got my rail and K4 mounted at a buddy's house this afternoon, and bore sighted it well enough to hit 8-1/2 x 11 paper at his house (standing and bracing on a tree branch shooting at 50 yards). I stopped by the range on the way home to sit at the bench for a few shots to start tweaking. I did manage to get the windage nailed and deciding where I want the elevation. My hunting load, for the time being, is LeadHead 265 gr gc over 17.9 gr of AA#9, and has been the best for accuracy .... got it shooting about 1" high and close to 1" group at 50 yards. Also tried the HNDY XTP 240's over 19.5 gr AA#9 and it was grouping about 1-1/4", but 4-1/2" high at 50 yards. I know I could dial it in for either of the two loads, but I'm determined to stay with the cast bullet.
Also, having never used a forward mount scout scope (and with not so stellar vision), It's gonna take some time adjusting. I see now what the value of the raised cheek piece is
