I think that I have tried it in both and it works well either way. I mostly use 38 spec cases for it cause I have a bunch of them. I save the 357 cases for 357 loads, mostly 13.5g / 2400 and a 170g Keith bullet 358429

Every load I have tried in mine gets more accurate the faster you drive it.. my 158 SP loads are over book max with Lil'gun. Your results may vary.
