I would not have even thought about taking mine apart that much for cleaning until I read your post. Great job and great pictures.

If anyone wants a PDF file of Quinc's disassembly
Every time I come across information like this I try to save it as a PDF, often times because I am away from the internet connection, but also because the internet itself could someday be in jeopardy and there is some info too valuable for me to lose.
Thank you Quinc, and everyone else who contributes to this forum for people like me with somewhat limited knowledge of the intricacies model 92, it gives us just enough information to not screw up doing what should be routine maintenance. I was unable to post a PDF here as the file is too large but if anyone would like a copy of it to keep on their hard drive PM me and I can email it to you.

I have adjusted the attachment settings so you should be able to attach the PDF now.Arktikos wrote:I was unable to post a PDF here as the file is too large but if anyone would like a copy of it to keep on their hard drive PM me and I can email it to you.

The PDF is a really handy, stable & robust file format.
The Adobe Acrobat Reader gives you limited ability to create them but I have a copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional on my computers and can make PDFs out of just about anything with many available security features.

I just have the cheap one, Print to PDF or some such but it works good enuf. When I go to tearing my 92 down I am going to print off a copy so I can follow along without my laptop hogging up the bench.pricedo wrote:The PDF is a really handy, stable & robust file format.

Am I the only one that doesn't remove the locking lugs from the lever during disassembly?

I remove them so I can clean and relube the pivots and mating surfaces. Probably overkill but it makes me happy.
