Re: Happiest Day
My happiest day's come from time with my family, and it will have to be my family that sells my Rossi, because it's one of the guns I'll have till the day I die.

Re: Happiest Day
Well said zippy. I don't have any single shots left, but I have a plan in place to get the best value for my firearms for my family if I were to pass.
I get what sherman was referring to. If something is a hassle, it is not worth owning or passing along.

Yeah, the troublesome guns are not worth having for me either.Ranch Dog wrote:I get what sherman was referring to. If something is a hassle, it is not worth owning or passing along.
Your forum has shown me that most members get good guns from Rossi, but the problematic ones are likely to frustrate if Rossi Customer Service is required.
I thank my lucky stars that only minor tweaks were all that was needed to make my Rossi perfect for my needs.

Re: Happiest Day
My bud who owns the shop watched me look over the .357 that I got from Bud's with a fine toothed comb.
I was explaining to a customer the need to check out a firearm before buying it and using the Rossi brand as an example as well as a few others I've seen over the years.
And he emphatically endorsed the fact that I look them over before I take possession. I'll get got from time to time on a used gun where I may miss a cosmetic flaw or a busted grip but generally mechanically I make out pretty well, doubly so with respect to new guns.
So far I'm still pretty happy with the 3 Rossi 92s I've picked up. I'd probably pick up a half dozen more if I could get them for what I've got in the 3rd one.

Re: Happiest Day
Im about 2 hrs southeast of buds.
So I drive up and pick the rossis up personally.
The counter people no me very well, cause when they bring out the rossi, I pull out my bag with reading glasses,
bore light,snap caps,etc.
then the rossi gets a good inspection.
One of the counter girls told me, other people just buy the firearm and never take it out of the box.
One morning they had several crates of mosin nagants setting out in the lobby.
When i pulled out rubber gloves and rags for inspection, and started pulling nagants out of the crate, they got a kick out of that.
But my 4 rossis have been good ones.
They did need a going over, cleaning, springs, polishing, etc.
I see them as a new, unfinished rifle, that needs some fine tuning.
I bought a rem marlin back on 2015, 45/70 guide gun, but all my rossi 92s have rem marlin quality control beat hands down.

I had always heard that said about boats and airplanes but not so much about guns. A new perspective.
