I've been wanting to try powder coating but didn't have time to fire up the pot to get some clean bullets so I decided to see if I could get the lube of some that I had sitting around. Acetone doesn't do much for either BLL or Emmert's. So next I'll give mineral spirits a try.
The other thing of interest was that the black nitrile "grease monkey" gloves from Home Depot are not resistant to acetone. Discovered a nick on one finger I wasn't aware of .
Have any of you folks doing PC tried it with black powder? I am thinking of coating a few of the Lee 457405 and trying them, but on reflection the lube in BP serves at least 2 purposes one is to keep leading to a minimum but it also serves to keep the powder fouling soft. I'm thinking I might want a grease cookie under the boolit. any thoughts?

Greetings
Barrel length, humidity, powder used and how many shots before running a wet patch are going to be involved. Eliminate the lube in the grease grooves and I think you are going to need more than one "cookie".

you can still put lube in the grooves of the powder coated boolits.
many times they shoot even better with smokeless this way.
