Top Break Barrel Liners
I have a plan to turn some Rossi single shotguns into pistol caliber carbines. Does anybody on here have experience with that?

Re: Top Break Barrel Liners
May go that route, I have a factory NEF 45 LC that's fun and bought a 9mm insert for a 12 gauge chamber that I haven't tried yet. Not much to pick from in my area, new or used. There is a beater Rossi 20 gauge in town and I may use it for a project. I don't have the tools or knowledge to stub a barrel

Re: Top Break Barrel Liners
Track of the Wolf has a good source of barrel liners for top break action. The prices are by the inch. I've been thinking real hard about buying a 25 Auto barrel for a Rossi 410 Youth. I could replace my grandson's Cricket as I still cannot buy 22 RF locally. I'm already reloading the 25 Auto with home cast bullets and it is cheaper than 22 RF ammo.
My question is how to bore the shotgun out to 716" and what do you do for extraction?
I'm going to change the title of this topic to "Top Break Barrel Liners" so it is a bit more descriptive.

Re: Top Break Barrel Liners
That's a good one due to the fact it has sights. There is a website called MCACE that has 410 barrel inserts. I've heard of guys lining barrels with liners from Track of the Wolf, not sure on how to do it proper. 25 acp would be fun

Re: Top Break Barrel Liners
Just visited the mace site. He has all the bases covered. The 7.62x39 conversion to 30-06 sounds interesting. I once had a Savage 4.10 shotgun insert for 12 ga. It appeared to be made out of aluminum alloy and had an o'rings at each end to help center it in the barrel. it was a good idea (about 10" oal as I recall). I would think the insert accuracy would be good when bullet could fit the bore ie 30 Luger in 30 cal rifles, and only fair in short bbl ie 22 or 25 ACP in 30 cal or 410

One of the fellows that stops by the shop periodically has liners either for a shotgun or for a .45-70 that are full length and he's been well pleased with them.
