There is a good article over on Leverguns, com by Paco Kelly about this caliber and the Model 92. Worth a read.

IME H110/W296 was the best for velocities in my .45 Colt carbine. I load 23 gr. under 300 gr. Sierra, Speer or Hornady bullets as well as 300 gr. cast. POI with the one sight setting is pretty much the same! Amazing. I saw no need to load heavier but I know one fellow that went to 26 gr. H110/W296 under 330 gr. cast bullets.

I'm actually going by Ranch Dog's finding and his first choice in powder for this. Now I will be starting these below 25.5 gr of Lil'gun but will work up as I'm looking mostly for consistent accuracy. I have not written off H110 yet just don't have any at this time but might try it after the Lil'Gun.Hobie wrote:IME H110/W296 was the best for velocities in my .45 Colt carbine.
