Wow, guess that means my perceived chances of finding one just dropped.

What I'd really like to see in a Rossi 92 would be a 41 Mag.
Navy Arms 1892 - 357 Mag - 24" Octagon heavy barrel.
Rossi 62 Octagon 22LR

A lot better chance of finding a Braztech model R92/454 in 454 Casull which is still manufactured than one of the remaining 99 480s.
The 92/454 has a reinforced double threaded magazine & a magazine tube loading port as well as the conventional receiver loading port & a lot better availability of factory ammo, cases, bullets & other loading components.
The 92/454 will also fire 45LC ammo.
Not much of a decision really.

Even they have seem to have dried up. There was a couple listed close together by different FFLs and then, bah, none since. I would buy a 454 if I saw a blued rifle.

Any idea how many 454 Casull levers Rossi has made? I just hope that they make one with my name on it! 8-)

Not much of a decision really.
Maybe I'm just an odd duck, but I'd much rather have the 480 than the 454. 45s just don't interest me.

Well, maybe I should rephrase that and state that it wasn't much of a decision for ME (perhaps an even odder duck  ) considering the facts & circumstances I outlined in my previous post. :D
Hope you find your 480 soon.

Well, I guess I'm the lucky one then, I have two of the 454's, stainless Trapper and 20" blued. I would jump on a 41 mag if they were produced in a heartbeat! DP

Have the Amadeo (no bolt safety) 20" M92/454..........it cleaned-up to be a fast cycling, accurate gun.
Have the Trapper model in both 44 Mag & 357 Mag.........ditto.
I would buy a 480 if I happenstanced upon one in good condition at a reasonable price in a jiffy...........would prefer the 16" Trapper model but the 20" model would be fine.
