I'm not a fan of Locktite on scope rings.

I haven't had issues with blue Loctite on small fasteners when used on bicycle parts which are mostly aluminum.

I have more concern with using Loctite in aluminum than steel.
I prefer steel rings and mounts. I know I've got one set of aluminum rings that are overbuilt and another aluminum one piece mount that's lightweight. I'd be a bit leery of Loctite on the lightweight but it should still be ok. I'd follow the manufacturers recommendations in any event. I've seen manufacturers both include it or include pre-treated fasteners and some manufacturers say not to use it.

The heat trick with a soldering iron is something I did not know a few years ago and I'm glad to have learned.
