Rossi 92 scope mount base

Does anybody know why the Rossi 92 scope mount base (that fits the threaded holes under the rear sight) has suddenly become impossible to find? Did Rossi quit making them. When you do a search on a lot of sites, it comes up with a Weaver 40892 base which looks quite similar but doesn't list the Rossi 92 as one of the guns it fits, plus I would worry the screws aren't the same (metric?)

Did some more checking...Try going to Sears as they show three places that might have the Rossi P-892 mount
It is a Weaver style mount and that is what I used.

Rossi USA doesn't list the P892 base, only the P801 ( I'm not sure what that one fits)

I don't know about that. I just looked and they have 33 P892's in stock.

Huh, I didn't know there were two websites. www.rossiusa.com just shows the other one. I didn't realize there WAS a www.shoprossi.com
