Joe Biden Was Right

Post by LowKey »

Recently shot a Maverick 88 in 20 gauge with WInchester #3 buckshot.
Very impressive close range performance.

Joe Biden's recommendation of shotgun use for home defense seems right on the money.

Before investing in an expensive stock pad to minimize painful 'cheek slap', foam pipe insulation leftover from the recent freezing weather was used to determine effectiveness and placement on the stock. While not pretty, this temporary solution worked so well that it might become permanent.

Maybe, but he was wrong about the warning shot.

Joe isn't right he is just lucky that what he said is feasible. LoL I love it you pulled me into thread with that title well done lol. I have used the gym floor matting you can buy at Walmart. 2 small pieces duct tapped to the stock but I like this idea to. It may not be pretty but if it works no worries.

I have an 88 in 12ga with a short (legal) barrel in a convenient spot in my bedroom. Fired once to test. Used 00 buck from about 15' on a 1.5 gallon Tide jug full of water. Took about 3-4 seconds before the water fell on me.

Yes.

The adhesive on the edge of the pipe insulation is holding it on the stock pretty well.

There are several brands of insulation, with some softer and thinner than others.
I don't know the brand I used, but it is for 1/2" copper pipe, and it is very soft with a smooth rubbery finish.

I believe Joe said you need a double barrel shotgun.

So the two warning shots would leave you exactly the way Joe wants you, with an empty gun and defensless.
