What are you reading?

Post by Archer »

Just finished a good Science Fiction book about near term current technology exploration of Mars.
The book in paper form is 625 large format pages but the print is about standard size so it's a pretty long book but held my interest and entertained me for a week in spite of my staying up late reading it.
The book is available on Amazon both in paper format and Kindle edition.

Margaritifer Basin by Gregory F Gates (Author)

bought one for myself for Christmas and another for part of my father's Christmas.

Tipping Point by David Poyer. Fictional, action packed novel of the modern Navy.
Roughly half way through this one. I hit the "new" book section of our library
quite frequently. I believe I've read all of Poyer's Navy novels.

Me too, as well as half a dozen other gun related forums. I've never been much for reading just for the sake of entertainment, unless it's also educational.

I just finished Winchester Lever-Action Rifles, by Martin Pegler to get a good overview of the evolution of our rifles and I just started Devotion, by Adam Makos. It's a historical account of the Navy's first african american carrier pilot (who flew a corsair during the Korean war). I like reading history, but also fiction, horror, pretty much everything. I spend 2 hours a day on the train commuting and am never without a book (paper or electronic).

I read a whole bunch of gunboards for information. Sometimes for pleasure of the BS on them. The current book I'm reading is "House of the Rising Sun" by James Lee Burke.

I read a lot, it keeps me out of trouble.

Still going on the Laid Universe.
I've been going in the order of internal chronology and I'm up to Saltation. (Not counting the fact I'm still looking for a copy of Trade Secret.)

Internal Chronology:
Crystal Soldier, Crystal Dragon, Balance of Trade, Trade Secret, Local Custom, Scout’s Progress, Mouse and Dragon, Conflict of Honors,Agent of Change, Carpe Diem, Plan B, Fledgling, I Dare, Saltation, Ghost Ship, Necessity’s Child. Portions of Dragon Ship, Dragon in Exile, and Alliance of Equals happen concurrently
