shootin' in my backyard range

Post by Moon Tree »

I wanted to shoot my 92 in 38/357 some this weekend before I took it apart to refinish the stock and forearm. I do love this little rifle. Tropican lid at 50 yards, iron sights, 54 year old eyes.

And my fancy-smancy shoot bench.

Yes that's a Savage bolt action. I'll get some pics of me with the Rossi posted. :D

The bench is a re-purposed school desk. A friend owns an office furniture business. This was an old display desk from his showroom. I replace the laminate top with a 2x6 top. The rest is a re-purposed office chair arm rest. It's adjustable up and down. I mounted wheels on the front bottom of the frame to make rolling it around the range MUCH easier.

I like practicing in style similar to the way I would shoot while hunting instead of sand bagging the rifle down.

Pics with 92, 20" round barrel (non-bolt action rifle) ha ha ha

AK she's a Savage .243. She's put a lot of venison in the freezer.

RD, I'm taking the 92 and a Blackhawk pig hunting in Dec. We'll mostly be hunting with dogs, so the range will be less than 25 yards. Which firearm I actually use to shoot the pig will be determined by which one I take a deer with in Nov. I'll the one that I didn't take the deer with. Both guns need to be blooded, so. And, it will, also, depend the shot I'm presented at the moment.

I'm really looking forward to this hunting season.
