Savage 99 Brothers

Post by Ranch Dog »

I picked my 99E's stock up today from the furniture refinisher. This rifle had the birch stock with the broom handle finish. The fellow refinished to look like dark walnut. Charged me $25. Sure looks a sight better.

That came out very well. I have to say that the light Birch stocks look a little . . . funny. The dark walnut looks good with the matte scope. So what 99 is next on your list? .250-3000? .243?

Thank you! If I were to ever run into a 375 Win, I would buy it. Other than that, I'm probably done. I sold two rifles this past week and put the money in the savings account. That is strange for me to do, I guess I have enough.

We also have an earlier 300 Savage. Very easy to carry about all day with a receiver sight on it. And the 300 Savage really does not give up much to the 308...
Way down south in Arequipa, Peru till June 2020.
